When the world tells you, "you need to love yourself", or "you're
not loving yourself enough", think of The Great Commandment in Mark
you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Notice in verse 31 it says, 'love your neighbor as yourself'. It
implies that we already love ourselves. In fact, we already love ourselves too much. We want to take care of ourselves, don't we? All our arguments and fights with each other are based on us not getting what we want, when we want it.
"What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions." (James 4:1-3 ESV)
This happens when umma and abba get into conflicts, and when you all fight with each other over toys or food or whatever.
The battle is to love God and
others more than you love yourself.
